NZ Wins 2018 Trans Tasman Cup – Gulf Harbour

This year the US Kids Golf, Trans Tasman Cup Tournament was held in New Zealand for the first time. The last two years have been played in Australia. Last year I played in Sydney for the first time. We played at the Gulf Habour Country Club in Whangaparaoa Peninsula for two days. I played in the 8-9 year old girls team for NZ with my playing partner Anihera Koni, who came all the way from Dunedin. I also played against…

Surprise Holiday at Omaha!

Surprise Holiday at Omaha!

My Mum and Dad surprised me this weekend! I had a golf tournament at Omaha on Sunday, and we got to stay at a bach near the beach for 3 days! The bach was really fun and we got to go down stairs to a kids play area which had heaps of games. We played twister, foozball, and ping pong. I would really want to go back there again one day. On Sunday I played the USKG tournament at Omaha…

42 at US Kids Golf – Waitemata

42 at US Kids Golf – Waitemata

Today I went to the Waitemata Golf Course, where I played at the 2017 US Kids Golf Summer Tour. I was the only girl in my age group, so I got to play against some of the other 10-11 year old girls, which was fun. I had to beat a score of 48 to qualify and I got a 42! This is one of my best scores ever in a tournament. I even bet the older girls I was playing…

2017 McKayson LPGA – Windross Farm

At the end of September, I went with my Mum and Dad to the first NZ LPGA tournament at Windross Farm. We watched Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson play golf over 5 days. I got to watch all the players up close which was really exciting.  I remember on one hole, Lydia Ko took a shot that landed on the path and she had to take a drop. Belen Mozo was in the lead for the first 2 days, and she…

My handicap dropped to 26.7!

My handicap dropped to 26.7!

Today I played with my friend Gia at Wainui, to put in another 9 hole card. I shot another 48 which is good, but I think I can get under that score. I was hitting really straight, but I need to work on my putting and controlling the distance. After our game, we saw the Chinese qualifiers from IoG. One of them got to go into the LPGA tournament. We watched them on the last hole, and they were really…

ANZ ProLikeKo Event

ANZ ProLikeKo Event

Today I went to a Masterclass with Lydia Ko. She taught us about how she warms up and practices. I learnt that before she plays in a tournament she stretches and practices for 1.5 hours before she tees off. She also said putting is really important because it can help you get birdies if you’re hitting well, or save par if you are not hitting so well. The most important thing about putting is the speed, because it will help…
